DONT’ PUSH ME ‘CAUSE I’M CLOSE TO THE EDGE

Through art, many pioneers expressed revolutionary ideas, ideologies and political believes. Jean michel basquiat was one of them. He showed socially critical concepts through his work; he redefined contemporary graffiti with his messages about racism and power structures. This capsule collection is inspired by him and new yorks 1980‘s hip hop movement. This collection is designed to provide the person wearing it with big confidence and high self esteem. It is all about bringin ones creative soul to the surface. Showing off and wearing the garments with pride is what it is all about. Similar to basquiats work I focus on strongly contrasting and bright colours. The bright colours on the dark base are highlighted and brought to extra attention by creating a big and oversized sillhouette.
