X2

X2 is a youth subculture started in kreuzberg, berlin. The subculture was created in the 2010‘s by a young turkish woman looking for answers. Why is it that men in my community are allowed so much more? Is religion to blame? Or is it our society? How heavily should religion influence our day to day life? Can provocative/radical art liberate women in their sexual behaviour and free them from taboos?

The inspiration for this project comes from my personal experience growing up as a turkish immigrant in germany.
